The gypsies call it " O culto " . In one of the several gypsy camp sites that exist in suburban areas of Faro , this happens regularly. Two times a week the gypsies gather in a common hut covered in phrases and figures of christ and flowers kind of resembling like shrine , to pray for the good and exorcise the evil.While the men watch , tens of gypsy women form a circle of screams and cries in a mix of praying and just letting out. In the centre of the circle , the gypsies randomly change places while their oldest( it's a common tradition in the gypsy community that the oldest person takes the most prestigious role in any event) puts her hand in their forehead to exorcise any type of emotion up to the point o exatase."O culto" is not a unanimous practise by all in the camp site , but it's practice by most of the people that live there , because they believe that praying cleanses their souls from every sin.They believe that the praying makes them the protected by god.
